This enamel timepiece has been designed to commemorate 110 years since Japan’s very first wristwatch, created by Seiko in 1913: The ‘Laurel.’
One of the Presage Takumi craft designs, this limited-edition watch is inspired by the design elements of that first wristwatch and incorporates several of the original features including the proportions, lug shape, font and colouring – noticeably with the signature red 12 o’clock, just like its inspiration.
The enamel dial has been recreated by hand by skilled Japanese artisan craftsman Mr Yokosawa using traditional heritage enamelling techniques. The historical design is combined with the modern Automatic in-house 6R27 calibre movement, with a power reserve of over 45 hours.
The Seiko Presage collection inherits more than a century of watchmaking tradition and remains true to its values of Japanese precision and beauty in every piece.
